Today's Journal Entry

Today's Journal Entry:

As I sit here nearly a decade later with a new gifted MacBook from my brother, friends, and family, I’m reminded of the power of my wishes and desires. At 23, I find that I have everything I need, whether it’s material possessions, survival essentials, spiritual growth, or the courage to tread my own unique path. What’s truly fascinating about my journey is that there’s no paved road ahead of me. Each step I take is uncharted, and every moment is a chance to forge my own way. There is only one me, and every step I take is a step I’ve never taken before.

Lately, I’ve been reflecting on a sentiment that resonates deeply with me:

“You are who your ancestors sang about in their ceremonies. You are their revolutionary prayer. You are their sacred gift to the world.”

Now more than ever, I feel connected to this truth—the balance of life’s yin and yang, the ebb and flow that shapes who I am. Embracing this dance teaches me to laugh through the highs and lows, reminding me that life is not meant to be a straight line nor should it be.

It’s not only my ancestors who hoped for future generations to be liberated and fearless; it’s also about the work I’ve done in this life and those before it. I know I’ve fought hard to be where I am today. I’ve faced challenges, been knocked down, and silenced, only to rise stronger. That’s the path my soul has chosen. It is within this life that I stand on my throne. It is this life where I shall assert my free will, my human rights, and the world's human rights to illuminate the best and brightest versions of ourselves that we’ve ever seen in history.

Today is the day to show up for yourself.
