UYUNI ROAD TRIP:
It was an incredible adventure to the world's most renowned salt flats. I am not joking when I say this will be the most amazing and unforgettable roadtrip of your life from San Pedro de Atacama to Uyuni, Bolivia. Traveling in a 4x4 Toyota jeep alongside a personal guide and four fellow travelers, we explored the salt flats' most spectacular sights and received a warm welcome upon entering Bolivia.
From San Pedro de Atacama, I embarked on the 3-day, 2-night Atacama-Uyuni, Bolivia road trip, which included all meals and accommodations throughout the journey.
The tour organizers thoughtfully grouped us based on language, ensuring seamless communication and camaraderie among participants. If you're traveling with friends or solo, rest assured you'll stay together and be with people who speak your native tongue. With numerous cars and tour companies offering similar experiences, the key is finding a company at a fair price. I booked my journey through my hostel Casa Voyage.
You need to enter Bolivia with Bolivians because you have extra park fees you need to pay. You can get anywhere in San Pedro de Atacama.
Avoid opting for the 4-day, 3-night trip unless you specifically need to return to your starting point. Three days of driving can be quite exhausting, and by then, you've likely seen enough.

It's worth noting that Uyuni itself doesn't offer much in terms of activities. I highly recommend leaving Uyuni on the same day you arrive and bussing to another city instead. From Uyuni, you can catch buses to various destinations like Potosi (for the mines), Sucre, La Paz, or anywhere else that piques your interest.
If you're backpacking, I highly suggest packing a smaller bag with clothes and toiletries to prevent reopening the pack every time you land somewhere.
