In all honesty, I was extremely disappointed with this spot, and further so, I would recommend skipping this spot UNLESS you are a surfer. In that case, it is a gnarly place to do nothing but surf. Below is a short and simple travel guide for Huancacho, Peru.
If you are seeking a beach within this region that has more activity and liveliness, I urge you to visit Máncora Beach, as I ran out of this city to that one. Please visit here for my Máncora guide for tips!
Place of stay:
PointBreafk Surf Hostel: 5/10. Friendly people but one of the worst beds I have ever slept on in my life. We actually slept with our heads at the foot of the bed because, on the other end, we would sink inwards ether and not have space.
Food
Panadería Argolini: Good breakfast combo with LOADED desserts for a nighttime snack!
Look out for Menu del Dia! Your best bet to an amazingly cheap and fulfilling meal!
A small city with plenty of waves but not much else to offer, at least in my opinion. However, it's essential to keep an open heart and grateful perspective, even when visiting a destination that may not meet your expectations. These experiences teach us what we don't enjoy and help us grow.
BEACHY GIRLY 4 LIFE!
Next stop: Máncora via night bus
Xoxo,
Chelsey
